Laptop Offer

A Laptop will be issued to incoming students during Orientation week in 2009. See this PDF file for details. It is a one-time offer to students newly arriving at Jacobs University Bremen.

THE GIVEN CONFIGURATION AND COMBINATION OF SERVICES IS THE ONLY AVAILABLE OFFER FROM Jacobs University Bremen!

Incoming students will receive an email offer including the price and payment options after July 15th, 2009.

It is now also possible for students already immatriculated at Jacobs University Bremen to purchase a laptop as offered. Students already at Jacobs University Bremen are required to pay the amount in one sum before retrieving the laptop during O-Week.

Ordering Laptop

The procedure to order a laptop is simple:

1. Send an email to h.kobbe@jacobs-university.de BEFORE July 22, 2009, specifying your order and the payment plan as given on the Laptop Purchase Agreement (incoming students received an email including the price).

It is not possible to order a laptop at any other time than for the O-Week. There is no laptop purchase procedure until the next O-Week.

• Ordering a laptop by this procedure is a legally binding contract between you and Jacobs University Bremen.

Getting the Laptop

1. During O-Week, go to the issue counter.
2. Present a valid student ID of Jacobs University AND your passport WITH a photo on it.
3. Sign the Laptop Purchase Agreement.
4. Check for completeness immediately.

You will not get a laptop, if your name is not on our list.

It is not possible to pickup a laptop "for your friend".

You have to pick up your laptop in person, and prove, that you are really you!

Later complaints about missing parts can not be processed.

Jacobs University students will not get a laptop, if before the day of issue the payment was not received by Jacobs University Bremen and confirmed to IRC-IT. Pay in time! No cash payment at the issue counter possible!
