The Jacobs University Library is pleased to announce a new cooperation with Kids@Jacobs, the daycare on campus. The library is establishing a kid-friendly area in the IRC with comfortable seating, bookshelves, and a multilingual collection of children's books. This area will be available not only to kids enrolled in the daycare, but for all kids affiliated with the Jacobs community.
Kids@Jacobs and the library are asking for donations of children's books, especially in English, to build this collection. Please feel free to drop off your donations at the library or send us an e-mail if you have questions.
In addition to a kid-friendly area in the library, the kids from the day care are invited to the library for story time on a regular basis. Books are read aloud in English and the kids are encouraged to discuss these books. The first story time took place on September 19, 2008 and we look forward to continued visits.
