This feature is available for EndNote 7 or higher. The screenshots below are from EndNote X - it might look a bit different in other versions. This service can also be used with other tools (e.g. Reference Manager, ProCite, zotero ...).
Did you know... that EndNote can offer direct links to library services?
EndNote allows you to use the library's linking service (Find It) directly from a reference in your EndNote library. This service offers direct access to the full text if available at Jacobs University. If an item is not available on campus, you can directly order it via interlibrary loan.
How it looks
Open the reference for which you would like the full text and choose the menu References -> URL -> OpenURL Link
You have to open the reference! The functionality is not available from the preview in the EndNote library window.

How to enable the Find It linking service in Endnote
- Select the menu Edit -> Preferences
- An Endnote Preferences window will pop up. Choose OpenURL/PDF (or URLs & Links in EndNote version X1) from the list on the left.
- Check the Enable OpenURL box.
- Copy the following link into the OpenURL Path box: http://jacobssfx.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/jacobs
- Click OK.
Please note that the link in the picture below is not valid anymore. Use http://jacobssfx.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/jacobs instead!
