Student job 1:

In a research project on disease associated genes I have the following job advertisement for a Data Engineering student (volume 10hrs/week, duration 2-3 months):

Creating a website capable of sending parameter choices to run (existing) python code and then displaying the results on the website.

Note: A simple solution is the 'binder' framework, but this is *not* what we are looking for.

Requirements:

- fundamental python knowledge
- fundamentals of linux knowledge (OS, bash, chmod, path..)
- jupyter notebook knowledge
- fundamentals of python packaging systems or willingness to learn them
- Knowledge of python web frameworks (django or flask) or willingness to learn them
- fundamentals of deploying web code to linux virtual servers or willingness to learn them
- fundamentals of web servers (nginx or apache) or willingness to learn them


Student job 2:

In an industry-funded project on production logistics, which I am supervising jointly with Prof. Yilmaz Uygun, I have the following job advertisement for a Data Engineering student (volume 10hrs/week duration 2-3 months):

Assisting with the (python-based) numerical investigation of a simple prediction algorithm we have been working on (called 'performance enrichment analysis')

Requirements:

- fundamental python knowledge
- fundamentals of machine learning
- fundamentals of scikit-learn
- jupyter notebook knowledge
