Copied from the Using Wiki in Education blog:

Universities that need to maintain a directory of faculty research profiles for accreditation, funding agencies, and expertise requests should consider using a wiki. Each faculty member could be given a page on which to include a research description, CV, photo, and other pertinent information in the simple, uncomplicated layout encouraged by the wiki. The deep benefit of the wiki would emerge over time, as faculty can edit their profiles as often as they want, without extensive training. When reaccreditation takes place, research administration offices would see the benefit of not having to coax faculty to update their pages in one massive operation.
