On Thursday 26 May 2011 between 07:00 and 08:00 local Bremen time servers and network components will be updated.

If you have to work on files stored on the server during that time, then before the maintenance hour copy the respective files to your local hard disk, work on it locally, and after finishing your work and after the end of the maintenance interval, copy them back onto the server.

Setting up telephone calls to telephone numbers outside Germany are currently unreliable. Sometimes, the call goes through, sometimes not. The issue appears to be a routing issue in the provider's network.

Update 16:00

Call routing is working normal again.

One student email database was overcommited. On Friday afternoon we took measures to prevent this to happen. Unfortunately, email traffic was more than expected. We fixed this on Sunday late afternoon, since then, access to email for users of that one database is possible again.

Power glitch 24.05.2011

Shortly after 7am a power glitch hit the campus again. Several infrastructure elements went unoperational, e.g. lifts and door openers, and also some servers, network devices, and PCs.

IT is bringing up affected services as soon as possible.

All servers and network infrastructure is up and running again.

If single devices (e.g., 8-port desktop switches, local or networked printers) do not respond, "try switching it off and on again" (tm).

The qpilot service stopped yesterday at 05:40PM due to a failure.

The service is up and running again since 09:11AM this morning.

Datev Server unavailable

The server SDATEV02 is currently unavailable.

We are investigating this issue and expect the system up and running again shortly.
