Check Service Status First

Before calling Dell support check your service warranty status at How to check Dell service status.

Here is the relevant quote from the Dell International Service Program page:

The Dell International Services Program offers the security of knowing you can receive service and support when you travel with your Latitude or Inspiron notebook outside your home country.

There are three methods for engaging technical support when traveling internationally:

  • Call the call center of the country in which you're traveling
  • Call the call center of your home region while abroad
  • Call the International Queue at 512-728-7424 (toll call). If in the US or Canada, call 800-285-1653 (toll free)

The call center that you contact will perform a problem diagnosis. If repair is needed, the phone technician will arrange for service by contacting the Dell call center in the country where the customer is located. A dispatcher will contact the customer and arrange for service.

Consult the Dell International Service Program page for the list of countries, where Dell Laptop Support is available.

Service Tag

Have your service tag ready, which is located on the bottom side of the laptop.

(info) It might also be helpful, if you can prove your legal ownership of the laptop by having the relevant Jacobs University document, which you received from Jacobs University shortly after you received the laptop, at hand.
