If a computer seems terminally broken or too old, contact Service Desk for Faculty and Staff, so that they can check the machine.
If the machine is to be replaced, fill out a Purchase Request Form, add as text for whom the new machine is, and for which machine it is the exchange. The list of standard PC hardware can be found at PCs and Laptops for Faculty, Staff, Admin, you have to be logged into this site.
Then follow the standard procedure for Purchase Request Forms at Jacobs University.
Inquiries regarding delivery time should go to the Purchasing department via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please refrain from contacting the vendor yourself, which will result in confusion and misleading information.
Upon arrival the new machine will be adequately set up by IRC-IT, and the computer user will be contacted for data migration and organization of the delivery process.
From submitting the electronic AND signed paper purchase request to the Purchasing department until the new computer is ready to use in your office it might take up to six weeks. Please plan accordingly.
