For research project it might be desirable to record telephone calls with test subject. German law usually does not allow this. Also, Jacobs University's telemedia guidelines prohibit using telephones for monitoring.

The attached document, which has been provided by Jacobs University's data protection officer, gives guidelines, how to allow for recording of telephone calls with test persons, and describes, which provisions to take to allow this. It also gives a template to get signed by the researcher to prove, that the requirements have been made known and will be followed.
