As of October 2008, the

  • seven members of IRC-IT (incl. CTO) care for
  • ~1,200 client computers in Jacobs University's data network,
  • 20 Windows server, 30 Linux servers, 7 Solaris servers,
  • some more hosted of CLAMV, including four compute clusters (sum. 272 CPUs) and one SMP computer (24 CPUs),
  • several more servers hosted for various research groups,
  • one teaching lab,
  • three telephone hubs,
  • 1,621 phones with voice boxes, fax, and computer telephony integration,
  • 70 mobile phones and Internet access devices,
  • 94 manageable workgroup switches with 4018 ports, thereof 3,288 connected,
  • 65 WLAN access points,
  • one central network switch,
  • one VPN concentrator.
